3 HVAC Tips During Winter Weather

Do you ever feel like your HVAC never shuts off during the winter? While you want to keep your family warm, the noise of that air circulating can often sound like money just slipping through your fingers. Instead of just forking over your hard-earned cash each month, make sure you’ve done all you can to maximize your HVAC this winter. To do just that, follow these few tips from our crew at Allied Services, Inc.

1. Get a programmable thermostat—and use it.

If you don’t have a programmable thermostat, get one. One of the best ways to save money on your utility bills is to turn down the heat when you’re away and at night. However, many homeowners forget to do this as part of their daily routine. A programmable thermostat lets you set it and forget it. You can program it once, and your HVAC will automatically adjust during different times of the day. It’s like magic.

2. Don’t skip preventative maintenance.

When your HVAC is in need of repair or an upgrade, it works overtime to try to get the job done. Your best bet is to schedule preventative maintenance for your heat pump or furnace so you can be sure it’s working in top condition. If your HVAC system is in need of an upgrade or overhaul, it may be time to get a quote.

3. Get a consultation.

If you’ve already done all you can to maximize your HVAC this winter and still have issues with it getting the job done, maybe it’s time to consider a new system. Perhaps your unit just doesn’t have what it takes to heat your size home, or perhaps its age has got the better of it. However, you’ll never know until you schedule a consultation from one of our certified technicians. We’ll gladly send someone to your home to assess your heating and cooling needs, your existing HVAC system, and the size of your home. From there, we can make additional recommendations for making the most of your HVAC. To schedule your HVAC consultation, maintenance, or repair, contact Allied Services of Dayton, OH, today at (937) 269-5059.
